Paris, Mason & Objet
2008 Home Trade Show
Lots of beautiful textures
and natural design elements were in evidence at the Paris, Mason &
Objet 2008 Home Trade Show. Textural knits and rustic wools were some
of the eco friendly fabrics shown with animal skins, antlers, shells and
feathers to enhance a rustic lodge look.
Colors ranged from deep
lush shades of purple, red, teal, yellow, chartreuse (It’s HOT!) and fuchsia,
bold and rich! White on white interiors felt so serene and glamorous
when enhanced with tints of blush, palest blue, clear green and soft chamois.
Grays were strong and have replaced beige and brown as a neutral, especially
when paired with tinted whites or some of the bolder colors!
Nature inspired organic
shapes were popular in furniture and accessory design. A strong emphasis
was placed on green designs and sustainability in resources.
Fabrics looked to nature
with 18th century inspired romantic and vibrant floral designs.
Trellis patterned textiles bring the outdoors in and are great when paired
with glorious florals.
Classic animal prints,
especially Leopard and Zebra, were updated in new, unexpected colors, such
as green and pink!
I think we will be seeing
a lot of emphasis on nature/organic inspired shapes and designs that
relate to the drive for eco -friendly designs and sustainable resources.
The trends seen at Maison & Objet should arrive on our shores this
fall or winter!
